SPRINGFIELD EVENT CINEMA

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
A new cinema complex within a new Westfield development in Springfield - south of Brisbane included 5 GA cinemas, 2 V Max cinemas and 2 Gold Class cinemas along with new V max bar lounge and Gold Class lounge. The concept here was to work with the large voluminous spaces and create a feeling of the 'big shed' with Events within it, with their particular lighting effects and canopies.
The central entrance space has a large neon swirling spiral hung within the black void that illuminates the way and leads one into the concourse and the entrance to the cinemas. A Graphic narrative lines the concourse and leads one to the cinemas entrances. Gold class is a separate environment where white ropes with illuminated ends.. hang and define the bar area and lower banquette spaces. Vivid fabrics and various seating areas define the spaces.
